Now that the champagne toasts are behind us, it’s that time of year that we traditionally set our ‘resolutions’. Year after year we make these new year’s resolutions and year after year, we (nearly always) fail, feel guilty about it and end up feeling worse than before we started. Instead of feeling the pressure to create a ‘new you’ this year, we’re encouraging you to continue being you, and just take simple steps to feel your best. In order to make real lasting changes in your life, it’s important to work from the inside out – and we believe that the first step is selfcare.
To help you on your selfcare journey we’ve asked a few of the team here at Tisserand Aromatherapy to share their top tips…
Fenella John – Junior Designer
Sleep Better Pillow Mist is my saviour. It makes my bedtime routine something to enjoy as opposed to just getting some shut-eye for the next day.
My best tip for selfcare and wellbeing is exercise! Treat yourself to some gym wear that you feel really great in, whack on your favourite tunes, get moving and end with a protein shake from Innermost – the chocolate is delicious. For me, exercise is the best way to reduce anxiety whilst also creating a strong and healthy body.

My favourite product is the Nat Geo Explore Mood Mist because it smells better every time I use it (great for tired feet and waking me up when I’m feeling lethargic!). My best tip for selfcare and wellbeing is always take a moment for yourself when you need it – and don’t feel guilty about it – we all need them!
Rose Jewison – Digital Manager
My favourite products are the Lavender & Chamomile Bath Oil, and Massage & Body Oil. Sleep is my only focus. The Bath Oil helps my mindset and body in my wind down before bed. Then a little of the body & massage oil on my arms and legs smells lovely and is super moisturising.
My favourite selfcare tip is to think of all and only the happy things that have happened in the day when I get into bed before I fall asleep.
Joanna Brady – Designer
My favourite Tisserand Aromatherapy product at the moment is probably Frankincense oil – as it has grounding and calming benefits and helps ease anxiety. It’s versatile too so it can be diffused with other oils, or added to Jojoba for a skincare treat. Alternatively, our National Geographic collection, especially the Retreat blend which is a beautiful blend of Frankincense, Neroli and Vetiver essential oils.
My best selfcare tip is simple – Movement. I’m lucky to live by the sea and a brisk walk along the seafront helps boost circulation and distracts the mind. For the ultimate boost, I like nothing more than being in the Sea – cold water swimming is good for the immune system and makes you feel alive, and attempting to take on the waves with a surfboard makes you appreciate the power of nature and the saltwater makes your skin glow!
This year I’d like to go on a trip with Wild & Free Adventures who run surf and yoga retreats in Cornwall and around the world – which all look incredible!

I have two – is that allowed? Happy Vibes Pulse Point Roller Ball is my go-to for the day time. I keep one on my desk and one in my bag. I’m a big fan of citrus and a quick whiff of this fizzy fragrance instantly makes me feel brighter.
My best selfcare tip partners perfectly with my other favourite product. An hour before I want to sleep, I light my Total De-Stress Candle, turn off all digital devices and dive into a good book (currently making my way through the extensive library that is Summersdale). The comforting scent of the candle paired with reading a book creates a little haven of calm and always ensures a good night’s sleep – just don’t forget to blow the candle out first!
