We only work with responsible partners who meet our high ethical and quality standards and follow a strict set of criteria when sourcing all our essential oils. Every oil must be 100% pure and unblended, of 100% plant or natural origin, and vegan. This also means they must not have been tested on animals and be non-GMO. We require our suppliers to confirm that farming sources have anti-bribery and corruption, and anti-slavery policies and practices.
Organic – All our organic essential oils are certified 100% organic by the Soil Association, from farming through to processing. They are derived from plants that have been grown without the use of man-made fertilisers, herbicides or pesticides. Organic plant production uses ecosystem management, growing and producing in a way that works with nature, not against it, and helps protect soil, support biodiversity and care for the planet. A transparent manufacturing process ensures our essential oils contain no artificial chemicals, parabens or phthalates.
International standards are set by IFOAM (The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements), which also accredits many certifying bodies, for example the Soil Association or French Ecocert.
Ethically Harvested – Our ethically harvested essential oils are derived from a herb, shrub or tree that is cultivated in its natural environment. As far as aromatic plants are concerned, species depletion is rarely a problem with herbs (which are easy to grow in quantity) but tends to be more of an issue with slow-growing trees. Because of this, we ensure all our sources are sustainable and dedicated to the protection of species and their environment.
Wild Crafted – Our wild crafted essential oils are derived from plants that are not cultivated but gathered from their wild habitats without damaging the sustainability of the plants, their habitat or other wild species in the area. Ingredients are collected from unmanaged areas such as forests, walkways and waterways, and are not maintained under any kind of cultivation or agricultural management. The areas are, however, protected to ensure the long-term preservation of the species and that the biodiversity of the area is protected and uncontaminated.
