Juniper Berry is refreshing and uplifting. It helps to clear the mind of negative emotions, like anger and grief, and can improve concentration. It’s a great choice during times of stress, overwhelm or low motivation.

Physically
Juniper Berry helps to warm and soothe tired or aching muscles, and may assist with water retention and feelings of bloating when used in a massage blend. It can also be used to assist with the symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome.

Around the home
Due to its clearing nature, Juniper Berry makes a great addition to homemade room mists. Boil 50ml of water and allow to cool, add 2ml of glycerin and up to 10 drops of Juniper Berry essential oil. Shake vigorously before use and spray into the air to help clear your mind of negative emotions.

Juniper Berry essential oil has a refreshing and green aroma with a sweet woody undertone.

Aromatically, Juniper Berry is a middle note essential oil, the main body and balance of a blend, meaning its scent will last a few hours. It blends well with Lavender, Sandalwood or Cypress.

Found in central Europe, the Juniper plant is a tough, robust evergreen with small green buds that, over a period or around two years, gradually mature into black berries. Although famous for making gin, juniper berries are also renowned in Western herbal medicine as one of the most detoxifying of all remedies, with a powerful effect on the kidneys. Juniper was burnt in the sickrooms of ancient Greece to purify the environment and used during the mummification process in ancient Egypt.
