Product Details

Rosemary essential oil is fresh, green and woody with a powerful, invigorating camphoraceous scent. It’s often used to clear mental fatigue, inspire creativity and improve memory, making it a favourite for study or busy days. It’s also great for soothing tired muscles and joints, and is an effective hair tonic.

Emotionally

Rosemary is intensely stimulating for the mind and emotions. It can aid concentration, improve focus and memory, and help clear mental fog. In fact, a study* found that students working in a room where Rosemary was diffused achieved 5 to 7% better results in memory tests than the control group. However, it’s best to avoid this stimulating essential oil late in the evening.

Physically
Rosemary can help relieve tired muscles and joints, and loosen congestion. It is also widely used as a revitalising hair tonic as it can improve scalp circulation and encourage the growth of thicker hair when massaged into the scalp.

Around the home
Rosemary is a natural moth deterrent. Simply place a couple of drops of essential oil on a cotton wool ball and tuck it among your linen or jumpers to help keep moths at bay.

Rosemary essential oil has a fresh, green and invigorating aroma with woody undertones.

Aromatically, Rosemary is a middle note essential oil, the main body and balance of a blend, meaning its scent will last a few hours. It blends well with Grapefruit, Lavender or Lemongrass.

Native to the Southern Mediterranean, Rosemary is now cultivated all over the world. The botanical name Rosmarinus officinalis means 'Dew of the sea' as it initially bloomed around the Mediterranean's shores.

Rosemary is part of the large Lamiaceae botanical family and has been used as a medicinal, sacred and culinary herb for centuries. Traces of Rosemary have been found in Egyptian tombs and it was burnt or placed around doors by the ancient Greeks and Romans to ward off evil spirits. During the 1600s, it was used in concoctions by physicians who believed it would prevent the plague. In Western herbal medicine, it was burnt in sick rooms to purify the air.
