Our ethically harvested Clary Sage essential oil originates from Moldova. It's extracted using steam distillation, where the oil is drawn from the flowering tops of the herb, to produce a thin oil with a very faint yellow tinge.

When used in a massage blend, Clary Sage can soothe spasms in the digestive and respiratory systems and relieve period cramps. Simply add 5 drops of Clary Sage to 10ml of blending oil and apply in gentle, clockwise circles around the navel. It can also help to normalise oily or combination skin.

Aromatically, Clary Sage is a middle note essential oil, the main body and balance of a blend, meaning its scent will last a few hours. It blends well with Sandalwood, Bergamot or Rose Absolute.

Clary Sage is the giant of the sages, growing up to 1.5m/5ft tall. In midsummer, the plant produces tall spikes of lilac-and-pink flowers that have an incredibly musky aroma.

Simple and effective ways to incorporate Clary Sage essential oil into your daily routine.

Diffuser Blend 8Drops

Add 6-8 drops of Clary Sage to your diffuser to create a balancing and soothing atmosphere. Helps to balance the mind and soothe irritability. It is particularly helpful for relieving the symptoms of hormone-related mood swings.

Massage Blend5Drops Per 10ml

Add up to 5 drops of Clary Sage per 10 ml of blending oil, or 2 drops per 10ml for a facial blend. Helps to soothe spasms in the digestive and respiratory systems. Also helpful for providing relief from period cramps when massaged into the tummy area.

Skin Blend2Drops Per 10ml

Add 2 drops of Clary Sage per 10 ml of blending oil for a facial blend, or up to 5 drops per 10 ml for use on the body. Helpful for all skin types, particularly oily and combination skin.

Bath Blend6Drops Per 20ml

Add 4 to 6 drops of Clary Sage to 20ml of blending oil – enough for around 3 baths. Add to the water just before you get in and swirl it around. Helps to uplift and restore emotions when feeling overwhelmed, irritable or suffering from hormone-related mood swings. Also helpful for normalizing oily and combination skin.
