What are the benefits of Rose Absolute?

Rose absolute, Rosa damascena, is obtained from the petals of the rose flower using solvent extraction, making it an absolute as opposed to an essential oil. (Rose Otto, obtained by steam distillation, is an essential oil). Both are true base notes, meaning that a little goes a long way. The two have similar therapeutic properties, but as the Absolute is slightly cheaper to extract, it’s a more ‘wallet-friendly’ choice. Grown in Turkey, our Rose Absolute has an intensely floral aroma that is deep and full-bodied; in my opinion, it is a heavenly aroma! It is dark orange in colour and has a somewhat viscous consistency. As a classic ‘base note,’ you will only need one or two drops in a blend for the aroma to shine, but what are the benefits of Rose Absolute?
