As part of Aromatherapy Awareness Week, we spoke to aromatherapist Simone Stevens, who shares with us her tips on how to kick start your day with aromatherapy.
Simone says “I am often asked by friends how they can incorporate aromatherapy into their daily routine to improve wellbeing, particularly how to start the day right. For me, there are many powerful reasons essential oils are just so good, and I do love to bang on about them. Firstly, the direct healing action on the skin, supporting healthy skin cells, repairing, fighting infection, toning, cleansing, hydrating and moisturising. Heroes for the skin! They help your body to heal from the inside out – essential oils have molecules so small they can penetrate the semipermeable layer of skin. Meaning they can be transported around your body, eliminating toxins and repairing. And of course, the fragrance, the stunning smell essential oils give off can support so many moods, especially the ups and downs of life that many of us are facing right now”
Starting your morning
Wake up and start the morning with a couple of slices of lemon popped into a mug with warm water. This refreshing way to start waking up the body helps with digestion and detoxification.
You might exercise or meditate as part of your morning routine, so to really maximise this experience, choose some music to play that really wakes up your mind and try this diffuser blend for an uplifting boost, helping to dispel that sleepy mind fog.
Add the following to the water in your Aroma Spa Diffuser:
4 drops of Lemon – Citrus limonum
2 drops of Peppermint – Mentha piperita
2 drops of Rosemary – Rosmarinus officinalis
An elevating combination of Peppermint and zingy Lemon, mixed with the freshness of Rosemary, this blend will leave you feeling upbeat and focused for the day ahead.
Shower time

You will need:
1 tablespoon of Epsom Salts or Pink Himalayan Salt
