Aromatically, Virginian Cedarwood is a middle note essential oil, the main body and balance of a blend, meaning its scent will last a few hours. It blends well with Orange, Ginger or Sandalwood.

Virginian Cedarwood essential oil is actually extracted from a species of Juniper tree known as Red Cedar. The bark of the tree, cultivated in the USA and Canada, is steam distilled, to release the essential oil.

The Cedarwood tree has been used by Native Americans for centuries. They peel the bark from the trunk to make a host of objects from homewares to totem poles. It is also popular with modern manufacturers to create bespoke furniture.
