Jasmine has a nourishing effect on skin, and it can help to smooth, soften and revitalise dry or mature skin. Its aphrodisiac properties make it a favourite for luxurious body treatments, romantic massage blends and perfumes. If you love the smell of Jasmine, add 1 drop of oil to 5ml of blending oil and apply to the chest and neck area to smell this oil everywhere you go.

Aromatically, Jasmine Absolute is a base note oil, the longest lasting scent in a blend. It blends well with May Chang, Frankincense or Vetiver.

Jasmine is native to the tropics but now grows abundantly across the globe, with cultivation common in Morocco and Egypt. The star-shaped Jasmine flower has pretty white petals and often smells more intense in the early evening. The flowers are harvested at night to capture the sweet scent, and are too delicate for steam distillation. The extraction process requires a complex process of diluting the flowers in a solvent to extract the precious aromatic component from the plant. The solvent is then removed to leave a highly fragrant, concentrated liquid: an ‘absolute’ oil.

Jasmine is a precious oil with a high price tag and has been used for centuries as a perfume. Just a few drops of the Absolute go a long way.
