Product Details

Beautifully soft and floral, English Lavender essential oil has a more herbaceous aroma compared to our other Lavender varieties. It is instantly reassuring and encourages deep relaxation, making it a popular choice to help you unwind after a long day and bring comfort during times of stress.

Emotionally
Lavender is known for its ability to calm the mind and ease emotional tension. It's a go-to essential oil for promoting deep relaxation, helping you wind down at the end of a busy day, and bringing comfort during times of stress or restlessness.

Physically
Lavender is a gentle yet powerful all-rounder. It's known for its natural antiseptic and soothing properties, and when diluted into a blending oil, it can help to ease aching muscles, joint discomfort, and even digestive issues.
Lavender is commonly used to support the body during colds and flu, and it can gently soothe skin irritation and encourage healthy cell renewal, making it a valuable addition to any skincare routine. To help with insect bites, blend a few drops of Lavender with a carrier oil and apply to the area to calm itching and reduce the chance of infection.

Around the home
You can also use Lavender to subtly scent your clothes. Just add 3 drops of Lavender essential oil to a drawer liner and place inside your chest of drawers.

English Lavender essential oil has a soft, floral fragrance with a strong herbaceous aroma.

Aromatically, English Lavender is a middle note essential oil, the main body and balance of a blend, meaning its scent will last a few hours. It blends well with Bergamot, Clary Sage or Geranium.

Lavender was first found in the Southern Mediterranean and is now widespread in much of Western Europe. The plant's name derives from the Latin word 'lavare,' which means 'to wash,' because ancient Europeans commonly used it to scent their bath water. Lavender was also once used as a strewing herb, scattered across floors so that its soothing fragrance would be released when stepped on. Lavender even played a role in creating the word 'Aromatherapy' when French perfume chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé famously discovered its restorative properties after accidentally burning his arm and instinctively plunging it into a vat of Lavender oil.
